There are just about top 5 male Nigerian artistes who have always feed our crave for celebrity drama. They more often than not consciously or unconsciously life their lives in styles that inspire gossip and controversies.

Get familiar with these inevitable Nigerian music bad boys.

See them below;

1. Timaya

Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa as he is fondly acknowledged, is without an iota of doubt one of the most controversial male music acts we have.

Solely controversial for his headstrong persona and thuggish mannerisms. Timaya is one artiste we love to hate. He was described as one with an undesirable attitude who needed to enroll for anger management classes, by a Punch Newspaper correspondent. He has come under fire several times for his unorthodox lifestyle.

Surprisingly, Timaya garners over a million followers on instagram meanwhile he follows nobody on the social network.

2. Olamide

“Iyalaya anybody, street ti takeover”, the infamous rant was done by YBNL honcho Olamide Adedeji during the 2016 Headies Awards when Lil Kesh failed to pick up the “Next Rated” award.

Olamide aka ‘baddo’ is well regarded as a street king is not new to throwing tantrums and exuding rascally acts. He can also be credited for popularizing the ‘red cup’ culture as always seen in his music videos.

As far as the story goes, Olamide who ascribes himself as one with the streets is surprisingly making razz the new cool. He is very much a present day pop culture influence especially with the biggest weapon at his disposable, his music.

3. Wizkid

Somebody say yea yea! Wizkid whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun plays in the top echelon of the Nigerian music industry. You already know back in 2012 he sang was the baddest boy alongside Skales and mentor Banky W, since then he is ever living up to the expectation.

Wizkid has played major roles in the industry’s most controversial moments.

Remember Wizkid reportedly got into a fight with fellow colleague Dammy Krane in a club over song theft. Flashback to the fiasco from his second baby mama drama. And subsequently the spat with popular blogger Linda Ikeji which involved Lagos commissioner of police. Yet in all the star boy Wizkid has been winning on several levels with his music.

4. Burna Boy

Any list of industry bad boys without Burna boy, is that one a list? No way! Sensational dance hall act Burna boy is a good prototype for writing a book on “how to be a bad boy”. In fact Burna Boy and his music thrives in the midst of contention. It all begins from the early days of his career when he was barred from gaining entrant into the UK for being part of a gang indicted for murder.

From exiting his former record label Aristocrat on controversial grounds to sacking his mum as his manager.

The singer has also been accused for non payment of work fees, staff emoluments, refusal to turn up for interviews and having unprotected sex with one Stella Uju. Burna Boy makes for an undisputed music bad boy, especially considering his lifestyle. In a these the Port Harcourt born artiste has a loyal following from his fans plus he is a good music export.

5. Davido

Davido never avoids any opportunity to get into the news even if it may not be for very noble reasons. OBO easily gets mouths wagging with his flagrant display of cash especially foreign currencies and other ostentatious show off. One of the biggest highlights in music from 2016 was his altercation with his baby mama Sophie Momodu.

Another epic episode was when he dissed media mogul Dele Momodu and uncle to his baby mama in Humblesmith’s “Osinachi” remix. He is one of the many artistes with more than one baby mama. His latest episode was his alleged altercation with Ice Prince in Warri during a concert both artistes were billed to perform. Well, Davido doesn’t seem to care or give any thoughts about it so far as he is popping and he keeps churning out hits. True to his alias Davido is the ‘baddest’ of them all.
