Andres Iniesta has become the most decorated player in the history of Spanish football after helping Barcelona win the Copa del Rey on Saturday.

Barca's 3-1 victory over Alaves ensured Iniesta picked up the 33rd title of his career, surpassing former club and international team mate Xavi, who had been tied with him on 32 trophies.

This was Iniesta's fifth Spanish cup, and was also remarkably his 30th domestic honour with Barcelona - including eight La Ligas and four Champions Leagues - to go with the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 and 2012 championships he won with Spain.

Iniesta's next shot at an honour will come in August when he lines up for the Spanish Super Cup between Barca and league winners Real Madrid, with number 34 in his sights.

Iniesta won his first Barcelona trophy in 2005 when the Catalan giants lifted the La Liga trophy that season, and he has gone on to become one of his country's greatest ever midfielders.

It would be his eight Super Cup should Barca win in August. He has also lifted three UEFA Super Cups and three Club World Cups.
