The transition committee chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA in Enugu State, Hon Benjamin Edeoga, says his administration embarked on the construction of Ashinu bridge, along Abor - Eha Amufu - Agala road to open up the places for economic activities and reduce the sufferings encountered by those plying the road.
He stated this recently during the flag-off of the project. He said, “This is in line with the rural development agenda of the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration. We are constructing a bailey bridge in the place to link various communities on that axis. It is also strategic because it links the local government and Agala in Benue state.
The inhabitants of these areas are agrarian, and have been having difficulties in conveying their farm produce to selling points. I call on the locals of the area to give the construction company handling the project maximum support.”
A representative of COMAG construction company, handling the project, promised to deliver the job according to specifications.
Some stakeholders at event, including Chief Sunday Edeoga, and Chief Friday Igwurube, thanked the transition committee chairman for salving their age-long sufferings on the road.
