The Slay Queen Syndrome In Nigeria and It's Effects

Good day dear reader, I am here once again to bring to your notice some recent happenings around me. You would be wondering by now, what could Goody (My Nickname)  have to talk about today, just before you blast off to the main gist I would like to introduce you to two peculiar 'SLAY QUEENS' both are Nigerians and of good decent, although we won't get to talk about them in an in depth manner, just an overview on their profiles would do. Well the first on my list is someone (let me say we all know) we know, well for those who don't know her yet, let me introduce you to Linda Ikeji (applause and shouts in the air)  (Linda's picture below)

This is Linda and I won't say much about her just as I stated earlier, you can search for her biography on Google if you wish but all you have to know is she is Africa's biggest blogger (Also one of my mentors). What do I have to say about her?
I am sure when Linda was yound and was in her teen years there must had been fashion and other trends in Vogue at the time, you know, slay queens in town and all sort, latest handbags, shoes, jewelries, Infact I am sure that most young ladies her age then were also trending. But not Linda because either she nor her family could afford the lifestyle as at then, but she didn't let that mislead her, instead she made it her driving force, one of the many reasons she had to be successful. Today, very few women in the world belong to the social class Linda belongs to, she has the money, power, fame, you name it, but the sweet thing is, she acquired all this only through sheer hard work. For many ladies out there who go through Linda's social media handles like Instagram would see that the woman lacks nothing, the shoes, bags, home, cars etc.
Let's stop here for her.

Now let me introduce you to another woman of valor, she is a T.V presenter / Entrepreneur. I present to you Mo Abudu (as she is popularly called) Incase you don't know, she is the main host for the popular T.V show 'Moments With Mo' (man I loved that programme since I was a kid) .
A brief look into Mo's childhood and we will see she was born in the UK and was there until her family decided to move back to Nigeria when she was seven (7), she stayed with grandpa in Ondo State and even attended Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School. Although after the death of her father she moved back to the UK to continue her education. This is the little we will talk about her, now just like Linda, Mo was also once a teenager and as we know, teenagers can be mischevious, but not this one's, in the face of odds they stood their grounds and said no to temporary things and moments because they knew the best for them was yet to come.
'Showing exclusively on EbonyLife TV, Moments with Mo is Africa’s first and only syndicated daily talk show. It airs across 49 African countries and on cable TV in the United Kingdom. In just 9 years of its existence, Moments with Mo has transformed the face and flavor of African TV. It has been able to achieve this feat by constantly seeking to build and project a new, stronger, more independent and confident Africa that speaks for itself, celebrates its people and achievements, and solves its own problems.' Dear Readers, the two women above in persons of Linda Ikeji and Mo Abudu are very good examples of extraordinary, outstanding and classy SLAY QUEENS and this two are people young ladies of this days should aspire to be like not what I will be telling you about now.

The young lady in the picture above was caught stealing in the girls hostel of Ekenwan Campus University of Benin in the early hours of today. As at now her name is unknown, but I do know according to information I got that she is not a student of the University. She was caught after stealing a laptop, power bank and an hand bag. You can see for yourself in the picture that she is an example of what would be called a slay queen in the streets of Nigeria but look at the means through which this beautiful young lady (with sexy legs) wants to acquire the required items to belong in the group of slay queens.

Stop looking like you are confused abeg, what I am saying is, the girl in the picture stole a laptop, a power bank, a bag and was caught.
Dear Reader, I don't know if you are a man, woman, parent, single, married or in a serious relationship. I want to use this medium to appeal to you to tell every parent to please bring up their children well most especially female kids, advice them from time to time, there is nothing that cannot be achieved through perseverance and hard work. Please let us be conscious of the happenings around us and ladies, please if you want to be a slay queen, choose a good example and be a CLASSY SLAY QUEEN.

Don't forget to comment on the issue and share the post.
I am Maikoto Goodness, your host, bye.
